If you're finding the Summer Olympics exciting this year then you'll also enjoy our Olympic style event we fondly call the Savage Summer Smack Down! In years past, when the weatherman called for extreme summer conditions here in small town mid-America, team Savage would get out the slip and slide and practice their own Olympic style moves. Let's see who won the gold....
Of course, the head Super Savage (aka: coach dad) shows off his gold medal moves and makes it look so easy.
that we all think we can do it too!
That's a definite gold medal smack down Megan! Congratulations!
Then, the moment we've been waiting for....Super Savage takes his youngest recruit--baby Joe down with him at first to show him how gold medals are won.
His sisters (and the dogs) are watching them compete and cheering them on!
Baby Joe loves it so Super Savage decides to launch him on his maiden voyage. I told you this was a Savage Summer Smack down.
Great form Baby Joe - what a smack down!
Megan tries it on her knees this time with success and no points are lost for falls.
She is definitely going to be dethroning Super Savage this year!
And Julie enjoys a flying dive down the slip and slide head first.
Now there's a new move and a new Savage Summer Smack down world record!
Looks like we have a new recruit this year! Megan teaches her little brothers how future Savage smack down athletes begin their training for future gold on the slip and slide.
I believe they got it!
We've enjoyed Savage summer smack downs on the slip and slide for many years on the farm during extreme summer heat.
It remains one of our favorite family memories to laugh at and to share.
I hope it brought a smile to your face as well.

About this blog...
I began writing this blog in May 2016 after discovering that my mother always wanted to be a writer. She had Alzheimer's disease and never realized her dream. Sometimes in our deepest grief we are motivated to encourage others to fearlessly be themselves so that their gifts and stories are shared. I mean, how else can we change the world? So I began to record the things that reflect who I am and what is important to me, because one day my memories too, may be gone and what would that mean to the people God gave me to care for and the good works He gave me to do? So, here is where I share the important stuff so that you can learn real design, not decorator tricks, but fundamental and salient concepts to apply so that you can create your own legacy home and so that my family and I can remember the life we lived and created here in our home, our sacred place. I hope you're inspired and encouraged as I share my memories, my work, my mission & my life. Hugs & blessings, (Numbers 6: 24-26)
