Color is the most emotional and most personal of all the design elements--and there are thousands of them! And because all decorating decisions begin with color, it can sometimes be difficult knowing where to start. Why? Because color affects everything!
Developing a color palette for your design is always done at the beginning of a project because it sets boundaries and directs color and undertone choices for all remaining selections.
Deciding on the actual paint selections are one of the last design decisions that you'll make.
I often look to nature for pleasing color palettes or you can use a color wheel to determine great combinations.
If you're like me and love every color on the color wheel then deciding to use only three to five in a color palette might seem so limiting, but I guarantee you do have favorites....just go look in your closet!
Being an artist, I'm passionate about color and can talk hues and undertones for hours! So, if you'd like additional information about color and how to make educated decisions, I offer an educational seminar and would love to come to your venue, lunch and learn or place of business and present. Just drop me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org
So, because decorating is all about telling a story, if you were using just color....what story would you tell with your room?

Welcome to my personal design notebook. If you already know me, then you know my mother suffers from Alzheimer's disease. During this journey with her, I realized how important it was to keep a record of the things that reflect who I am and what is important to me, because one day my memories too, may be gone and what would that mean to the people God gave me to care for and the good works He gave me to do? So here is where I share the important stuff so that you can learn real design, not decorator tricks, but fundamental and salient concepts to apply so that you can create your own exemplary home and so that my family and I can remember the life we lived and created here in our home, our sacred place. Because my work is important, this is also where I share my favorite design projects and how good design enhanced their lives as well. I hope you're inspired and encouraged as I share my memories, my work, my mission & my life. Many blessings, (Numbers 6: 24-26)
